
Deputy director, professor and master tutor of the department of stage art of Shanghai theatre academy, member of expert committee of national art fund, vice President of Shanghai stage art association.
He has been engaged in the creation and teaching of stage art design for a long time, and has designed nearly 200 works of stage art design both in china and abroad. He has won the government award of the ministry of culture of China "the 14th wenhua award for stage art", the eighth golden lion award for stage art of drama. Design works have been selected into the top ten national stage art projects for many times, and have won the highest national awards of stage art such as the "Wenhua Award" of the Ministry of Culture, the "Five-one Project Award" of the Ministry of Publicity and Propaganda, and the "Excellent Drama Award" of the Chinese Drama Festival.
His representative works include: the drama "BIG LOVE" (USA); the opera "Little Two Black Marriage"; the Peking Opera "Rui Fu Xiang", "General Road"; the Guangxi Opera "Seven-step Poem"; the Shaoxing Opera "Avenue Line", "Ban Zhao", "Wang Yangming"; Shaanxi opera "Yiyi vulgar society"; Suzhou opera “The Soul of the National Tripod”; the Shaoxing Opera "Shaoxing Master" and so on. His academic works include <stage design> and <introduction to stage design>.

The stage design of Suzhou opera “The Soul of the National Tripod” is not simply to create a specific environment and place, but to uphold the poetic realistic dramatic style, with a highly comprehensive artistic approach, to design the "window wall" with the hero's lifetime as the image of the node which links many different scenes in the whole drama, and to generalize highly it into the dynamic structure of the film which consists of a group of windows through the whole play.
During the performance, the whole scene frame can move freely around the pivot fixed on the right side of the building entrance, sometimes opening, sometimes closing, sometimes walking with the protagonist, sometimes sweeping the whole stage like a gale... It not only embodies the protagonist's willingness to close his spiritual realm in order to guard the tripod, but also integrates with many places where she lives in a logical way; And through its own free combination, it can also connect with each other, forming a long roll of shaping different spaces and displaying the characters' hearts. It is concise, real and romantic.

胡佐
上海戏剧学院舞台美术系副主任、教授、硕士生导师,国家艺术基金专家委员,上海舞台美术学会副会长。
长期从事舞台美术设计创作与教学,先后在境内外设计了近二百部戏剧舞台美术设计作品。个人曾获中国文化部第十四届文华奖舞台美术奖、第八届中国话剧艺术金狮奖舞台美术奖。设计作品多次入选国家舞台艺术精品工程十大精品剧目;多次获中国文化部“文华大奖”、中宣部“五个一工程奖”、中国戏剧节“优秀剧目奖”等舞台艺术国家级最高奖项。
代表作品有:话剧《BIG LOVE》(美国);歌剧《小二黑结婚》;京剧《瑞蚨祥》、《将军道》;桂剧《七步吟》;越剧《大道行吟》、《班昭》、《王阳明》;秦腔《易俗社》;苏剧《国鼎魂》;绍剧《绍兴师爷》等。著有《舞台设计》、《舞台设计概论》等。

越剧《王阳明》舞台设计的理念是将中国古代的哲学思想融入其中,强调天地人合一的概念,整个舞台呈现出一种混沌的天地初开的感觉,这种感觉也呼应了剧本中的一句重要台词“我心即宇宙,宇宙即我心”。浑然一体的舞台空间体现出阳明心学的磅礴大气和玄妙莫测。整个舞台结构的变化也是像王阳明的“心学”一般变化于无形之中,随着故事的发展和王阳明的开悟,舞台上也通过水雾和布景的运动变得透彻明亮,呼应剧本最后一句台词“我心光明”。舞台结构是用棉麻材质混合制成。从舞台底部到舞台上空共四层,这四层棉麻结构可根据剧情的变化上下移动来改变舞台空间。演出中,这些轻柔的棉麻材料结合演员的表演能产生极强的艺术表现力,不仅诗意地再现了剧中多个空间场景,而且通过其层层递进,逐层揭开的形象有效的传递出主人公在思想顿悟前后展现出的复杂的心路历程。

演出中,整个布景框架可跟随表演动作围绕着固定在建筑台口右侧的枢轴自由运动,时而打开、时而合拢,时而与主人公一道悠悠地漫步,时而又如疾风般横扫整个舞台……它既体现了主人公为了守护宝鼎而甘于封闭自己的精神境界,可以顺理成章地与她生活的多个场所结合在一起;而且通过其自身的自由组合,又可以互相连缀,形成塑造不同空间、展示人物内心的长卷。既简洁、真实又浪漫写意。
